We've been "Boo"ed
Tonight while brushing the kids teeth we heard a knock and the door. We were very excited to see that we were "Boo"ed! Thanks, to who ever left us these awesome treats!
Bib and blankie
This weekend I felt the need to craft. I went through my patterns and found a baby bib that I have been wanting to try. I have a ton of fabric remnants and was able to make a matching security blanket! It was surprisingly easy, so I am thinking of making a few different ones to have one hand for baby shower gifts.

Our Busy Week
So we have had a busy week! Meghan started it all off with a dentist appointment. My poor girl has what they called a "flossing cavity". It is in between her back two teeth. She will have to get it filled in the next few weeks. So, we have now added flossing to our nightly routine because we don't want any more of those.
Nicholas and Hannah but had appointments as well. Hannah cried a little at first but then was happy when she was able to leave with a new toothbrush, toothpaste and a stuffed animal. Nicholas did great, no cavities! Yea, but he also got a referral for the Orthodontist to go along with his bag of loot. Nicholas has what is called a cross bite, that means his lower jaw is wider than his top jaw. We went to the Orthodontist on Thursday and received his recommendation. Now is the perfect time for him to get a rapid palatal expander. He is missing a good amount of baby teeth but still has the ones that he needs to help the expanded work. It will take 3 weeks to widen his bite and then he will keep it in for 3 months after that. The good news is that his back teeth have plenty of room so after this he may not even need braces when he is older.
Just when we thought we were done with teeth, Meghan lost her first tooth today. It was very dramatic! She was eating her breakfast and hit her barely loose tooth just right. It was just barely hanging on then and it was bleeding like crazy. I think it scared her more then anything. After a few minutes she was fine and has been anxiously awaiting bedtime so she could place it under her pillow. Aren't these the cutest toothless kids!

Happiness!
Since we have had such beautiful weather the last few days the kids and I came up with a "new" game to play in the van. I roll down all the windows and pop open the ones in the third row, then we drive down a road with no stop lights. The wind blows in the van like crazy and the kids laugh and scream as if they were on a roller coaster... They love it, and I love to see the innocence in their faces! I guess it is the small things that make us most happy!

4 day weekend!
I love when Steve has a 4 day weekend! This time went out to Henderson, NV to see our friends. The Janda's are such great friends of ours and we love staying with them! We always have an amazing time! I am not sure who has more fun, the adults or kids... Check out our pictures to see what I mean!
We also went on the "Big Shot" ride at the top! That picture has been put under lock and key. : ) We were screaming like little babies, but I was so FUN! Here is a description of it from the website:
Strap into the Big Shot and prepare to be shot 160 feet in the air at 45 miles per hour as you overlook the majestic Las Vegas Valley. In a matter of seconds, the Big Shot thrill ride catapults 16 riders from the 921-foot high platform up the Tower's mast to a height of 1,081 feet and down again. Before you catch your breath, you'll be shot back up again at forces unmatched by other Vegas thrill parks! Experience a gut-wrenching four 'G's of force on the way up, and feel negative 'G's on the way down as your legs dangle in the Las Vegas skyline.
Next time I want to do the SkyJump!
Doughnuts and Best Friends what else could you ask for? |
The boys enjoyed watching the doughnuts being made. |
We also had some fun at Bass Pro Shop! |
This fish was HUGE! |
We also took the kids to a Halloween carnival. |
Then Saturday night we got a babysitter and we went to the top of the Stratosphere! |

Family Home Evening
Tonight for Family Home Evening we learned about Temples. We talked about why Temples are so important and about what blessings we can receive. We visited lds.org for our lesson and for our activity looked through the picture gallery of all the Temples. I told the kids to pick their favorite Temple and I would print it out and then frame it to put up in their rooms. (Picking just 1 was impossible so they each got to pick 2) Here were their choices...
Nicholas's:
Nicholas's:
Provo, Utah Albuquerque, New Mexico |
Meghan's:
Hong Kong, China Washington D.C. |
Hannah's:
Kona, Hawaii St. George, Utah |
By having these pictures up in their room, they can be reminded of the feeling they have when they visit the Temple. I love to visit the temple and always feel a great peace while I am there. The Temple grounds are always so beautiful and peaceful. I think we are going to have to make a trip down to the L.A. temple soon, to see the new visitors center. We have not had a chance to visit it since it was remodeled.
I will post a picture of the finished photo projects when they are done! : )

Make-up Party
So, this morning I hurt my back. Hannah has taken advantage of my inability to chase her from room to room and watch her like a hawk. While I was icing my back on the couch, Hannah was having a make-up party in the bathroom.
Isn't she beautiful! The pictures don't do justice to how much she really used. She also painted the bathroom cabinets with it too! Yea!

Family Fun Day
Today we took the kids to the Kern County Museum. It is like taking a walk through Kern County 150 years ago. They have the old court house, a drug store, an elementary school, an old church, a dentist office and much more.
Steve and the kids after checking out the court house.
Hannah and I explored the Jail under the court house.
Afterwards went over to the Lori Brock Children's Museum. The kids had a great time playing together there.
Meghan loves to play teacher!
Hannah and I put on a puppet show.
Nicholas and Meghan were news anchors...
And then they were bankers...
and then Veterinarians...
and then they were mechanics.
We also learned a little bit about Lewis and Clark.
